The Carrot family (Apiaceae), also known as the Celery or Parsley family, has more than 3,700 species worldwide many of which are important in the agricultural industry. It also includes many species that are phototoxic or poisonous and they almost always form a cluster of flowers called umbels. This family is one member of the order "Apiales".
